I got a lucky mirror shot once, inside a country store. Dusty shadowy atmosphere, lots of antique objects piled along the floor edges, all very still – one of the antique things was a round mirror reflecting a scene through the window. In the mirror it was a bright clear day, flowers swinging in a hanging pot from a lampost and a flag cracking in a high wind with a blue July sky behind it all. Lost the picture but it’s permanent in my mind. Very americana. It’s unusual to have things come together in just that speaking way, don’t you think?
It really is, but such a pleasure when it happens – that photo sounds incredible! Such a shame you lost it. Mirrors are the perfect way to frame one picture within another – double your money. And then more often than not I’m tempted to turn the photo into a painting, which in a way makes it like a triple image!
Ooh, I love mirror shots. This is a good one.
Me too! Anything reflective and I’m there! Thanks 🙂
NP!
